About me
I'm a visual journalist covering Oregon and the region for Oregon Public Broadcast. Previously, I explored policy impacts, trauma and healing, immigrant communities, culture and identity, environmental issues and more in Colorado through visual storytelling for publications like The New York Times, ProPublica, The Wall Street Journal, High Country News and The Denver Post. A member of Diversify Photo, the NPPA, and an alumnus of the 74th Missouri Photo Workshop and The Eddie Adams Workshop, I've also taught visual journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder and photography workshops. More client info and honors below.
I earned a BA in journalism from the University of Montana in 2019, where I worked for the independent student paper, the Montana Kaimin. I later interned as a visual journalist at The Arizona Republic, Austin American-Statesman and Bozeman Daily Chronicle, producing news photography and videography.
I grew up in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona. My interest in photography stemmed from a desire to document the beauty of the Arizona and the Colorado Plateau, where I grew up camping and hiking. This eventually evolved into a passion for documenting the human experience in all of its complexity and wonder.
I love food and cooking, plants and flowers, exploring by bike, basketball, jumping in rivers, backpacking and skateboarding.
